Before Steve’s first trial of DenSureFit, he regularly used denture adhesive to keep his upper dentures in place, but his lower dentures would not stay in place, even with adhesive.
Adhesive Didn’t Even Work
Steve had his dentures for 3 years when he started using DenSureFit. He was wearing his upper denture regularly and kept it in with denture adhesive. “Takes me 30 minutes to get the glue off my gums,” he complained.
Steve was not able to make his lower denture stay in even with adhesive. “It hurts and makes sores,” he said. His last hard reline had been 2 years previous.
Upper Denture Fit Immediately
Steve had great results when he first applied DenSureFit to his upper denture. “It’s secure, snug and cush,” he said. “I’m very excited about this!”
Lower Denture Needed More Time
For Steve’s lower denture, he had an immediate improved fit after applying, however, an hour after, his lower gum started hurting. He removed his denture and left it out for the next five days.
Two days after applying the silicone to his upper denture, they became loosened. “They are still better than they were before the DenSureFit, but now it’s getting difficult to speak again,” he said.
Five Days Later
Five days after his initial application of DenSureFit, Steve added another very light bead of silicone in the trough of his upper. The additional silicone provided a much better suctioned fit.
He Achieved a Comfortable Fit With This Technique
For his lower, Steve had two “hot spots” at both sides of the back edge, which is where he felt he had excess space. He applied more silicone to the back and side only. He inserted and held very lightly, making sure that no silicone squeezed out the back. “I just needed the silicone to take up that extra space,” he explained. The technique worked great. He had nice suction.
“I can eat with my lower denture now,” he smiled. “Plus, now that I wear both dentures, I look a lot younger!”
