Details

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Age: 50 something
Denture type: Full upper/partial lower
Complaints: Unstable upper and lower; sores

Before Sheila’s first trial of DenSureFit, she regularly used denture adhesive to keep her dentures in place, reapplying at least twice daily.

Painful Hot Spots and Loose Dentures

Sheila had dentures for a year before using DenSureFit. Within that first year, her dentist had performed one soft and hard reline on her upper, but her dentures still fit very poorly. Her upper was especially loose. Her lower partial tended to lift because of a slight looseness. In addition, the hard unstable denture plate was grinding on “hot spots” on her gums making painful sores that never had a chance to heal, causing her constant pain.

DenSureFit Case Study - Sheila

Denture Adhesive Problems

Adhesive helped her somewhat, but she complained about four issues:

The adhesive dripping down the back of her throat made her feel nauseous.

Her dentures would get loose in the middle of important situations making her uncomfortable and self-conscious.

Adhesive does not cushion the sores on her gums where the denture plate rubs.

“The time I spend tediously scraping and scrubbing adhesive from my denture every night is time consuming, especially after a long day of work. If I could never have to do that again, I’d be so happy! When it comes down to it, I spend about $20 each month on adhesive which is inconvenient, unpleasant, and doesn’t really even solve my problems.”

Stopped Dating

“I haven’t been able to eat in public ever since I got my dentures,” Sheila stated. “I really want to go on dates, but the loose dentures make it so difficult that I just stopped dating,” she said. She explained that practically all dating that she does includes food and drink. “My dentures get loose right in the middle of a date. I have to disappear to the ladies’ room, hide myself in a stall, scrape out old adhesive and reapply new. Then I felt awkward after coming back to my date. I had to think up excuses of why I had been gone for so long. Not fun dating with loose dentures.”

Soft Foods Only

In addition to the lack of a romantic life, Sheila’s diet suffered. “My top denture is so unstable that I can only eat very soft foods. I can’t bite into an apple and I must chew very carefully. At home, I choose to eat without my dentures because it is easier to eat soft foods than trying to eat with loose dentures. But who wants to eat baby food all the time?”

Self-Conscious

Naturally an outgoing, bubbly and outspoken woman, Sheila’s self-confidence has certainly suffered through her ordeal with ill-fitting dentures. “I’m so self-conscious now,” she says. “ I look different, I act different and I feel different. I find myself covering my smile with my hand. I really just want to be my old self, but with a better smile.”

When Sheila tried DenSureFit, the results far exceeded her expectations.

“DenSureFit was really easy to apply and now I have a really great tight, suctioned fit. I feel confident that my dentures are not going to get loose in the middle of a date. And for the first time since I got my dentures, I don’t have pain in my mouth, nor adhesive oozing out and dripping down my throat.”

- Sheila

Because of the large amount of play in her upper denture, Sheila had to use 3 syringes of DenSureFit.
On her lower partial, she only used a little squeeze.

Analyzing Our Product

When asked to rate DenSureFit on a scale of 1–10, with 10 being excellent, Sheila replied, “I’m going to give it an 8 right now. I need more time to test the results to see if it lasts a good amount of time. If it lasts for 1 month, I’ll give it a ten. I would be extremely happy if it lasts one month.”

That evening, Sheila decided to celebrate her new DenSureFit with a night out on the town with friends. “I love it! My teeth felt so great that I even had a steak,” she says about tackling what, in the past she would have considered a “difficult meal.”

Exceeded Expectations

Creating A Custom Fit

One month later, Sheila still had the same application of DenSureFit in her dentures and was even more thrilled. “I give it a 10, for sure. I’m anxious to see how long I leave this in and how easy or difficult it is to remove. Plus, something else happened that I hadn’t expected. DenSureFit provided the cushioning I needed to allow my sores to heal. For the first time in over a year, I do not have any sore spots in my mouth!”

Dating and Eating with DenSureFit

More than two years later, Sheila is still using DenSureFit. She is happily dating and eating regular foods. Her hand doesn’t fly over her mouth anymore when she smiles, and her former confident self is back.

Cost Effective

She has since had another hard reline. “This is the perfect product to help me out between relines with my dentist. My dentures actually feel okay after this hard reline, but I still keep DenSureFit in my dentures because I simply love the soft cushioning. Why not? It just feels better! And when they start getting loose again, I’ll just put in more DenSureFit. Plus, I save money. DenSureFit costs less overall than what I was spending on adhesive. I absolutely LOVE this product and I don’t ever want to be without it! It has changed my life,” she says.
